In accordance with restrictions being eased across the board the following applies to the range as of today.
There are still no competition shoots allowed, this is coming from SSAA headquarters and not a decision of the local executives. However we can still hold shoots of the same type and structure, but they are practice shoots. Weapons licensing have made it clear that they will not revoke anyone’s license due to ranges not able to function.
You can refer to the calendar then as reference to what type of shoot will be held on a given day, and whether it is pistol or rifle. There was a mistake made on whether pistol or rifle today the 30th, but it is a rifle shoot, with the pistol western action tomorrow 31 May. Every Weds. night is still on starting at 4 PM.
Note that there is still a 10 person limit of shooters on the line at a time. No non members or visitors at this time on the range. If you are a rifle shooter and hold a valid national SSAA membership, you can shoot. However if you intend to shoot pistol you must be a Bowen branch member. You can join on the spot if you have a current national SSAA card.
Also it must be emphasized that hygiene must not be neglected. The virus is still out there, just not as prevalent or menacing as before, but vigilance is still a preferred option than having our range shut down if a case is linked to it. The kitchen is still off limits, bring everything you need yourself, even a pen, and the correct change for range fees. Remember that the range is Phil”s home.
If you have any questions, it is best to contact the relevant Discipline Captain of any shoot that you intend to attend.
